- Test GM, merge onto develop
- Test KPP, merge onto develop
- Init_core branch: merge changes outside of mode_init directory (mode_init is not released)
- Update code based on var_pools
- Update registry to use new stream definitions
- User's guide:
- Reformat for multiple modes
- Add text for new namelist groups, particularly analysis members
- Proof read
- Simulations:
- Decide on any new test cases we want to include (SOMA, etc)
- After code freeze, create standard domains with init core
- run simulations with standard domains for user download.
- Update web-site
- Paraview catalyst (in-situ visualization, in framework)
- Remove PBC alteration and Resting Thickness creation from forward mode.
- Pressure gradient correction for nonlinear EOS.
- Analysis members: create as time permits
- zonal means (global)
- means over regions
- cross-sections
- transports through sections
- heat transport
- MOC
- restructure MPAS data into variable pools
- Implement run-time I/O, including multiple streams
- Completion Phase I of Ocean Analysis Core (MPAS-OAC)
- Completion Phase II of MPAS-OAC
- Complete MPAS-O/POP/AWI/ROMS comparison with SOMA test case
- Implement and test hybrid vertical grid generator
- Implement performance metrics and tracking
- Implement Eliassen-Palm Flux Tensor diagnostics, analyze eddy resolving simulations
- Implement Lagrangian particles, analyze eddy resolving simulations
- Conduct CORE I and/or CORE II simulations with low-resolution grid
- Implement and analyze alternatives to standard eddy parameterizations
- MPAS-Paraview run-time adapter
- Tracer budget diagnostics
- Design of time/space filters applied to output streams
- Redesigning of front end system: grid generation through initial conditions
- Objectively constructed bathymetry
- Water mass identification
- MOC diagnostics
- Space/time averaging for user-defined regions
- Arbitrary x-z cross sections where x is any arc of great circle
- Efficiency: Increase halo size, reduce communication. Have MPAS 'count' number of halo rings required upon init, and set halo size accordingly.
