What would you like to have changed?
Add a way to strip top-level directories like GNU and BSD tar does
Why is this feature a useful, necessary, and/or important addition to this project?
In some cases this feature is needed to extract actual files without top-level directories. Would be awesome to have this feature natively 👍
What alternatives are there, or what are you doing in the meantime to work around the lack of this feature?
