This repository contains the source code for the 2021 version of the pony life simulator game The Ponies, one of the latest versions before the project rewrite.
Since not everything could be released, this game repository is unfortunately incomplete. The following things are missing:
- UI assets: The creator of the UI assets did not grant permission to release them as open source, so they're replaced with placeholders.
- Sounds: The game had no sounds yet and used sounds from The Sims as placeholders, which can not be released. New sounds can be added to the Sound Controller component.
- Music: The game has a great OST, but it should be saved for the original release. It can be found on the project's YouTube channel however. New songs can be added to the compiled game in the subfolders of ThePonies_Data/Content/Music.
- Content: Furniture, floors, etc. are also reserved for the original release. New content can be created using PoneCrafter and loaded by adding it to the Mods folder.
The project can be opened in Unity and should build and run as long as it's started from the LoadScreen scene.
Upon agreement of all the former programmers who could be contacted, the project's codebase is provided under the GNU General Public License v3.0.
Please keep in mind that the following parts are NOT part of the codebase, and therefore may have different licenses:
- Non-code changes in commits done before this license was added
- Plugins (GLTF, Discord, etc.)
- Fonts
