Use "Command" key on Mac instead of ctrl?

Using a Mac at work has conditioned me to use the "command" key instead of ctrl, and it would make micro more ergonomic if it used this idiom as well.

Unfortunately this is not possible. Since micro is a terminal-based text editor, it receives events from the terminal. Terminals only send control key events, not command ones. This is because the terminal uses command events for its own keybindings, such as Cmd-Q which closes the terminal itself.

I don't remeber if i changed vim config but I can use cmd+c/cmd+v for copy/paste
btw cmd+v is working in micro (cmd+c isn't)

In every other editor Cmd+C does work. Why micro prevents me from using it?

Since micro runs in the terminal, the terminal application determines what key events are sent to micro. On mac, the terminal application does not send key events with Cmd because those are meant for keybindings in the terminal itself (e.g., open a new terminal tab). The rest of the possible key events (normal key events, ctrl events, etc) are not used as keybindings for the terminal, so the terminal forwards those to micro. It may be possible in some terminals to make Cmd key events forward to micro, but then you won't be able to use those key events for terminal actions, which you may want. You can check your terminal's key settings for details.

You might find that Cmd-V works, because it is using the terminal keybinding to paste, and the terminal then sends all the characters in the paste buffer to micro as key events. Cmd-C won't work to copy because the terminal does not know about your selection in micro (this is stored internal to micro).
