Open file's location in file manager

I'm wondering if there's a way to be able to open a file you're currently editing in Micro in your file manager (using xdg-open I presume)
If this isn't currently possible, I think it'd be a nice feature.

Currently micro has no such feature, but this can be achived through lua.
I have no experience with xdg-open, although I tried to make a little script, it might be helpful to you.

Place this in ~/.config/micro/init.lua

Thanks for the response! I've tried the script and it opens the file manager but also crashes Micro.

I'm running on version 2.0.11 if that makes any difference. Also, I can't bind a key to "openfm" as it says the command doesn't exist, but I can execute it.

If you want to bind it change your init function to:

    config.TryBindKey('Alt-e', "command:openfm", false)
end 

(Alt-e as an example you can pick another key)

When I tried out in 2.0.11 I had the exact same error. Might be a silly question, are you sure you are running 2.0.14?

I replaced the binary in /usr/bin with the static binary from GitHub and even tested directly launching the binary from a fresh download to be sure.

This version's error is slightly different than the original one with the line numbers in micro.go changing.

I double-checked, 2.0.14 and it is indeed panicking 😢.
I compiled from source (master branch), and it seems to be working.

I think the crash can be prevented by replacing the body of openfm() to this:

Working now—beautiful stuff! I've been told that this is a very niche feature in editors but I'll personally make good use out of it. Apparently you can do this with vim and emacs, but not much else; at least not without good scripting support.
Unless someone wants to add to this or other people find this feature useful I'll close the issue as not planned in a few days. Thanks for the script!
