[TODO] Make installing preview service builds easier #601

Tracking here so folks know it's in-progress.

Took the code I wrote for the MIDI Settings app, and adapted that to run as a custom action in the service installer. The next version of the preview service installer will:

  • Require you to have developer mode turned on
  • Handle taking ownership of registry and files needed for the install
  • Unregister the in-box service if present
  • Install the preview bits
  • TBD: May also handle wdmaud2.drv, or that may be a separate installer. That's just for convenience because this is the only component which causes a reboot to be needed.

The PowerShell scripts will still be available in case any of the above things fail. I'll likely remove the buttons from the settings app.
