track plays but without sound

I currently face the problem that probably every second time (in the same deck) I load a track and start playing it there is no sound output on that deck.
The Waveform shows that the track is played but the mixer does not indicate any signal. PFL output has no sound either.

If I load the same track to the same deck again sound works.

In the log attached the first track plays with sound, the second one does not, and then again loaded it plays with sound.
Unfortunately the log does not seem to ouput anything related to that. Or do I miss something?

I am running the current master [584c6c8].

I noticed this a few times recently. Loading a different track worked, then loading the affected track again reproduced the bug. However I have not been able to reproduce this since running "scons -c" and doing a full rebuild.

I didn't experience this issue a single time, although I'm constantly using master.

It doesn't seem to depend on the compiler, platform, sound interface, or decoder since it has been reported for both macOS and Linux.

There were some changes in CachingReader, though I'm using the same version constantly without any issues.

Did those issues occur with a debug or a release build?

I'm not able to reproduce this bug, neither in debug or release builds nor with different analysis, waveform, effect, and quantize settings or with different decoders. How hard do I need to try? I could also try to switch to Clang instead of GCC to reduce the degrees of freedom.

The first commit that includes the CachingReader fixes is bdc87af (Merge remote-tracking branch 'upstream/2.2').

The last commit on master that does NOT contain the CachingReader fixes is e951464 (Merge pull request #⁠2269 from goddisignz/quantized_loop_out_2.2). Are you able to reproduce the bug with this version?

I noticed that there is another fix pending (since about a month now) that I discovered independently:

#2252

I will check how this might affect the "readableFrameIndexRange" that needs to be pushed upstream by the workers to detect and exclude corrupt ranges in the audio stream.

Philip and jus, what format have the affected files been? I only have FLAC files, so I do not know if the bug might depend on the file format. This might somehow be related to the recent changes of the FFMPEG SoundSource, though I don't know how.
