Hi @mmistakes:

When I set breadcrumb navigation, I got an error link. So I reviewed the code and doc, then got some informations.

  1. Site Variables site.categories http://jekyllrb.com/docs/variables/#site-variables

site.categories.CATEGORY The list of all Posts in category CATEGORY.

  1. Archive Settings in https://mmistakes.github.io/minimal-mistakes/docs/configuration/

Note: category_archive and tag_archive were previously named categories and tags. Names were changed to avoid possible conflicts with site.categories and site.tags.

So site.categories is replaced by site.category_archive in _includes/breadcrumbs.html.
