This initiative aims at flooding Russian government/military/ministry websites and news sites which are under control of Kremlin and serve propaganda and fake-news. They must be shut down immediately. The idea behind this project is to offer your website visitors to join the flood with just single click which will start hitting various pages of the enlisted evil servers via JavaScript to generate the desired load until the visitor wants. The real power comes with the massive sharing and usage across the world so it will be difficult or even impossible to filter the incoming traffic of the enlisted servers. Therefore it is essential to run this project at as many websites as possible so the amount of the visitors offered to run the flood will be the highest.
The whole project is very simple and consist only of a single HTML file muterussia.html that needs to be uploaded to your server and needs to be accessible via regular browser. This can be usually done via FTP or File Manager in your CMS. This file contains only markup needed to display the necessary information and controls to the visitor and a piece of JavaScript code that does the job when the visitor wants to. The source code is fully open source for obvious reasons. We recommend you to ask your webmaster or admin to review its contents to prevent any security regarding issues.
After uploading the file you should challenge your visitors to open it (in a new tab possibly). The contents and form of the challenge is up to you - article, blog post, information bar, banner, pop-up window, site-wide box, footer etc. To improve the range of MuteRussia we recommend you to send an e-mail to your contact/subscription list with the link to this file located on your server.
