The old docs were not longer working at all and this. The workaround for Snow Leopard and older was removed because it is probably not longer working at all and Snow Leopard and older are not longer supported ... This should work for the most cases :)

Did you manage to successfully set up a calendar like this in High Sierra? I always have to use advanced for that and do it like in nextcloud/server#7519 (comment)

macOS =< Sierra: Working.
macOS = High Sierra: As said in my comment in this issue, was not working for me at all. Thought this was a bug in High Sierra with a temp solution you have provided with the advanced setup, but you are right that it makes sense to document it. Please let me check in a VM, whether this "Advanced"-setup is working with older versions of macOS (at least Sierra and El Capitan should be documented) or if we need to have multiple approaches for those versions here (which would be kind of messy)...

I'm on MacOS 10.13.4 and can't get a proper connection for my calendar even when using the provided work-around.
Any ideas?
