[Bug]: Update to 32 crashed

Bug description

Try to update from 31.X (latest) to Version 32. Following message occures via the webpage:

Update to 32.0.0
Exception: Database error when running migration 5006Date20250927130132 for app mail An exception occurred while executing a query: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1071 Specified key was too long; max key length is 3072 bytes

We are still looking into why the update is failing on some installations. Could you please access phpMyAdmin (https://faq.1blu.de/content/469/881/de/mysql-_-wie-kann-ich-ueber-phpmyadmin-auf-meine-datenbank-zugreifen.html) and share some details about the database structure.

1. When you select the nextcloud database, then you should see list of tables like in the screenshot. On my installation they all start with oc_. Is your installation using the same prefix or a different one?

2. Select "oc_mail_mailboxes" in the left navigation, then press "Structure" like in the screenshot. Could you please share the list of indexes with us?

Thanks, now I have learned how to Access my MySQL Database =)

The update should go through if you drop the index with the key name "UNIQ_608F06019B6B5FBA5E237E06".

@kesselb same here having a different prefix nc_1234_mail_mailboxes instead of oc_mail_mailboxes in your case.
I went to the table structure and removed the UNIQ_ index and enabled the mail 5.5.11 app successfully.

Before refreshing the error remained cached in the browser with the app list:

An error occurred during the request. Unable to proceed.
Database error when running migration 5006Date20250927130132 for app mail An exception occurred while executing a query: SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1071 Specified key was too long; max key length is 3072 bytes

After enabling the app I had to reload (F5) the app list (nextcloud/settings/apps/installed) for the complete list to be refreshed.

Seems to be working now, after a few times back and forth between 31. and 32. Thanks =)
