Font size a lot smaller when language set to other than English

When the phone language is set to other than English (only tried it in English UK, not sure about other varieties) the font on the article page is a lot smaller. and cannot be enlarged.
It is true at least for French and Polish.
First I thought I messed something in the app settings, but I noticed that when I switch system language the font changes its size.

@tuohqjwd Are you able to provide some information about your phone / system? Which Version of the News app (android) are you using?

I'm on samsung galaxy s9+ running the latest e foundation version of android:
e_star2lte-user 11 RQ3A.211001.001 eng.root.20240506.224558 dev-keys

News app version is 0.9.9.90 downloaded from f-droid.

I can reproduce the issue on a Pixel 7 with up-to-date stock rom (English <-> German). I think I found the cause and will try to provide a fix.
