[Bug]: Upload to public link ends with "Fehler beim Hochladen, Statuscode 413" at files larger than 1GB

Bug description

User shares a public link to a folder. Someone tries to upload files by dragging and dropping them. Uplad works with files up to about 1GB, upload fails with files larger than 1 GB.
For the user uploading the file the progress bar works as expected, but ends with "Fehler beim Hochladen, Statuscode 413", on the server there is an error reported in the moment the upload beginns:

I just tried this scenario and had no problems uploading a 20 GB file to a public share.

Hint: Error messages in the logs regarding the size mismatch expected/transferred were (in my experience) always caused by network problems, not NC.

Aside from my hint in the last post: I see that you are still on 31.0.4, the latest NC is 31.0.8.

Or servers/proxies configuration issues.

HTTP "413 Request Entity Too Large" probably means that you hit some of these settings, as public facing uploads aren't chuncked.

Big file uploads up o some hundred Gigabytes are working fine on own folder and shares with other cloud accounts. The error occurs even when there is a direct access to the server without firewalls and proxies. Uploading to an own folder or a folder shared with a local cloud account works even over our reverse proxy.

Sorry, this is a hard error that occrrs on both our stageing and live environment and only occurs when someone tries to upload a file to a public link. Uploading to you own folders or a folder shared with or from antother account works fine up to some hundred Gigabytes.

So this is obviously not an RTFM error, and closing the issue without at least waiting for my response over the weekend is quite inappropriate.

Public links do not use chunking (at least until the next version of Server). So, yes, the big upload chapter applies.

Your comparison tests are all non-anonymous from the sounds of it; those use chunking which doesn't hit things such as the 1 GiB Apache default/etc.

It's been the chenged LimitRequestBody deault of 1073741824 instead of "unlimited". I've set it to "0" in vhost coniguration of stageing and everything worked fine again.
The updgrade to Apache2 2.4.58 was some days before updateing to NC31 and the problem occurred on Apache2 2.4.53 and later.
It's a littel confusing that uplads via external links are not chunked but now I see why for some months there are problems from certain external contractors with weak internet connections to upload their work via external links. The propability that the upload of a 9GB file is harmed by packet loss is quite high.
I guess that the chunked upload will retransmit broken or lost chunks and get the transer more stable.

@jkahrs It's mostly implemented in v32 via #52182, but I believe currently disabled until an upcoming maintenance release for some related fixes to occur (#55366).
