[Bug]: External storage prompts for password even without changes #55598

Bug description
Even without making any changes, you're prompted to enter a password for an external storage. Canceling the prompt gives an error icon against the storage

Steps to reproduce
- Click the three dot menu against an external storage
- Don't make any changes and click outside the menu
- Password prompt appears
Expected behavior
Without any changes, we shouldn't get a password prompt
