When uploading a single file the design is fairly poor (in my opinion):

The upload window that Dropbox uses is much better (again my opinion):

My suggestion would be to change the design so the upload would show at the bottom, similar to Dropbox.

It should actually just show inline, using the file row as loading indicator.

@jancborchardt for the drag and drop into a sub directory, yes, for an upload in the main dir, we should add a global indicator. Especially if the uset want to change the directory while still uploading! :)

@skjnldsv when uploading and then:

  • navigating further down: We could show the progress bar below the folder name in the breadcrumbs
  • navigating further up: We could show the progress bar below the folder name in the file list

That way it will be nicely integrated and not just slapped on the bottom.

(Regarding changing an app: Is that even possible, or will it not cancel the upload?)

@jancborchardt Agreed, but what about two level up, or two level down?

@jancborchardt so essentially a hovering box, similar to those "back to the top" buttons on websites?

Agreed, but what about two level up, or two level down?

Same thing – two levels down, it can be shown below the "…" in the breadcrumbs. Two levels up it can always be shown below the current folder, cause it contains the folder where stuff is uploaded into.
