https://docker-py.readthedocs.io looks like a nice abstraction layer that might make some things less verbose. No pressing need, but good to do at some point. https://github.com/d11wtq/dockerpty might also pair nicely with it.

Since filing this, I've used docker-py for a personal side project and it was nice to use.
