Closing epic: Phase 1 (Required Updates) is complete (#34, #35, #36). Remaining work has been split into focused issues for Phases 2-3:

• Advanced features: 🐛 Enhanced Debug and Development Experience #38, 📋 Implement Configurable Response Headers #39, 🗄️ Advanced Backend Support #40 (+ sub-issues Backend: Qdrant integration (formalize from PoC) #72, Backend: Milvus integration #73, Backend: OpenSearch integration (Vector + KV) #74, Backend: Snowflake Cortex integration (vector search) #75), ⚡ Streaming and Performance Enhancements #42

We’ll track future coordinated updates under new epics as needed.

Keeping this epic open doesn’t add much value now that the June 2025 compatibility pass is done and items are tracked individually. We can reopen or create a new umbrella if a future NLWeb release introduces another coordinated set of changes.
