Wouldn't the next-nightly build version number come after that of the current release? Or does it say at the current release number? Anyway, 👍 for adding it to the homepage.

It says the current release number since the release number for next is not yet fully baked, although there is talk in nodejs/node#1854 (comment) of updating it.

Can someone come up with something short explaining the difference between nightly builds and next nightly builds? Basically something to replace the line "Nightly releases are available for testing." on the website.

I'm 👍 on this - this was discussed in the io.js repo extensively. Sounds like a great idea.
