Linux Remote Desktop Release 3.2
Nubo released Linux Remote Desktop 3.2 which is an open-source VDI solution, completely based on open-source technology, Linux operating system and Linux containers.
NEW! Remote Desktop Session Recording
VDI admin now has the option to enable session recording to all users, or select specific users to record their remote desktop sessions.
The recorded remote desktop sessions are available in a new screen, which allows the admin to search for a specific session and view the recording in an embedded video player or download the video file.
The system retains the recordings for a specific configured period and automatically deletes them right after.
Change Version Numbering
We changed the version numbering to stay consistent with the other components. The new version number is now 3.2.
About Linux Remote Desktop
The project creates a secure, open source, multi-tenant environment for remote work. Users in an organization can access a remote Linux OS based workspace, run applications, as well as access other important resources. The remote environment is based on a docker container, is efficient and scalable, and can be deployed to an unlimited number of users. A web admin control panel is available to allow admins to control the organization's environment.
Main features:
- Available on any Linux distribution which support Docker containers.
- Multi-tenant/elastic solution for an unlimited number of users.
- Secure/Multi-factor authentication without the need of a VPN
- Availability from any browser without installing a remote desktop software.
- Web-based administrator control panel to manage all the organization’s desktops.

Linux Remote Desktop Release 0.9.3
Nubo released Linux Remote Desktop 0.9.3 which is an open-source VDI solution, completely based on open-source technology, Linux operating system and Linux containers.
NEW! VDI deployment across multiple host machines using Docker Stack and Docker Swarm
The main services can be automatically replicated and deployed to the Swarm, and as a result, add capacity as needed. For example: If a user's VDI session requires 2GB RAM and each host machine has 8GB RAM, each host machine added will add a capacity of 4 concurrent VDI sessions. The admin can add or remove host machines to the Swarm and the capacity of the VDI site will grow or shrink accordingly.
The docker-compose.yml
file has been changed to include the Docker Stack instructions, which can be customized per your requirements.
You can deploy the Docker Stack simply by typing:
docker stack deploy -c docker-compose.yml vdi
