Can I compile only the avx2 version and not the avx512 version?

Since my machine only supports avx2 and does not yet support avx512, can I compile only the avx2 version and not the avx512 version?

I created a file my_main.cpp under the root path of the project, which contains the following contents:

#include "src/avx2-32bit-qsort.hpp"

    std::vector<float> arr;

        arr.push_back(ARRSIZE - ii);
    }

    avx2_qsort<float>(arr.data(), ARRSIZE);
    return 0;
}

I then compile with the compilation instruction g++ my_main.cpp -mavx2 -mfma -O3 -o my_main -std=c++17 , but I get a compilation error like this:

my_main.cpp:(.text+0x8253): undefined reference to avx2_vector<float>::opmask_t convert_int_to_mask<avx2_vector<float>, int>(int)'
/usr/bin/ld: my_main.cpp:(.text+0x8265): undefined reference to 'avx2_vector<float>::opmask_t convert_int_to_mask<avx2_vector<float>, int>(int)'
/usr/bin/ld: my_main.cpp:(.text+0x8277): undefined reference to 'avx2_vector<float>::opmask_t convert_int_to_mask<avx2_vector<float>, int>(int)'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status. 

I got this method from the src/README.md, I don't know what happened.

Can someone help me with this? Be grateful!

@charon-water Apologies, the src/README needs to be updated to reflect the latest version. The way to include AVX-512 or AVX2 versions is all the same via the new static API's: x86simdsortStatic::qsort by including just one file: x86simdsort-static-incl.h. When built with -mavx2, it will automatically use the avx2 version of qsort.
