Add support for launching a web component without using a shadow root.
Shadow roots are still used by default, but they can now be disabled explicily.
This is required for some circumstances, for example if dependencies cannot be used in a ShadowRoot environment and patching them is not feasible.

This is still a draft:

  • It is currently based against the in progress Chakra 3 Migration. It needs to based on main instead.
  • The configuration option is not final.
  • Sample apps appear to work, but this could use a bit more testing.
  • The CustomElement.ts should be refactored, it has become too large. ApplicationInstances can be extracted, and various helpers for things like style, i18n, etc. can be created in different files. The HTML-Node handling (root, host, shadowRoot, appRoot) can be simplified (maybe).
  • Styles should go into <head> if no ShadowRoot is present.
