The DEFAULT_FILE_STORAGE setting is deprecated in favor of STORAGES["default"].
Please investigate its effect in edx-platform and update accordingly.

Hi @awais786, sorry for the delay in getting back to this.

I’d love to help close out this ticket. Since the original PR was reverted due to the following error:

django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: DEFAULT_FILE_STORAGE/STORAGES are mutually exclusive.

It seems the issue stemmed from running the print_setting command, which caused a KeyError due to misconfiguration or an incompatible setting in the updated Django version.

To move forward, I’m planning to connect with @kdmccormick once he’s back from the conference to get his thoughts on the best way to address this. Also, if I’m not mistaken, this fix should resolve #36743 as well.

django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: DEFAULT_FILE_STORAGE/STORAGES are mutually exclusive.
Both storages cannot defined together. You need to make sure DEFAULT_FILE_STORAGE removed from everywhere after STORAGES declaration. I think this is the reason. yes #36743 will fix aswell after this PR.
