This was achieved by find-and-replace, but I looked over all the changes to make sure nothing unexpected got changed.

I think that the "for ever"s that are part of the phrase "for ever and ever" should either remain split or that the entire "for ever and ever" be replaced with "forever".

Yeah, I did wonder about that a bit. I'm not 100% sure which makes most sense to me, but I think "forever and ever" does seem a little more natural, actually.

Looking at Rev 22:5 as a representative example:

  • "for ever and ever" is used by KJV, NIV
  • "forever and ever" is used by ESV, NLT, NASB, NKJV, HCSB, NRSV

So it does seem that there's at least a pretty good precedent for using the single-word version even in that phrase.
