OpenJS Foundation Cross Project Council Meeting 2019-06-10 #197
Comments
We also need to approve: nodejs/TSC#698 (comment) which is an update to the Node.js TSC charter. The board has no concerns but as per the governance it is now up to the CPC to approve. |
Thank you for making this issue @mhdawson !! |
@mhdawson I'm confused about why the charter of the TSC needs to be approved by the board and the CPC. Will other projects have this requirement? Not sure if I just need to create a new issue somewhere, or what, but didn't want to threadjack there, so I'm threadjacking here. |
The CPC description of project progression gives the CPC the job of approving/accepting the project charter. In any situation where a project is joining I think we can expect to work with the board, keep them informed about progress, and address any concerns. We'd want to do the same with community concerns too. |
The board did not need to approve the charter. It was brought to the board
as an FYI because the change replaced the board with the CPC in many places.
The current cpc charter states that the CPC approves all changes that are
non substantial. Most likely we should inform the board of the initial
charters for each project, but it is the cpc itself that approves.
After that smaller changes like errata can all go through cpc. Only larger
changes will require an FYI to the board.

@dmethvin @MylesBorins thanks for explanation |
FWIW, has the meeting started? Can't get in if it has 😞 |
👋 Is this meeting happening? Not seeing anyone on the Zoom |
neither I am. |
me neither |
I also can not get in |
Me neither. Do we want to switch over of the Node.js zoom? |
I assume we just need whoever is running the meeting to start it 👍 |
+1 to use Node zoom. Do we have a password for this? |
I can start the node one and past the link, just a sec |
Looks like it's live but still can't get in 😞 |
Quick request once we're done with this meeting: Could download the VOD from the Node.js YouTube channel and upload it to the OpenJS Foundation YouTube channel. This meeting should live within the confines of the OpenJS Foundation properties rather than the Node.js ones – I want to ensure that this meeting is owned by all Foundation projects rather than one specific impact project ❤️ |
I can do this once it's ready, @bnb. |
