Large user lists causes back content plug-in to operate very slowly

We've noticed page load times of >1 minute when attempting to use the back content plug-in. Andy suggests that this is due to large user lists.

@ajrbyers we also sometimes have problems with the index page loading because of the number of articles in the list combined with the author and section queries.

Justin: would the fix to the sluggish back content plugin be to swap out the author picker for the 'search for existing authors' thing that's in the regular submission workflow? if so, maybe we can take a crack at that, cause we have an increasing number of users who want to use that plugin.
Andy: Probably something more like the search feature in Enrol Users. But essentially, yes, it’s that drop down that will be slowing the page load. We really need a generic search view that works with HTMX.
