Microbiology evaluation of WYH compounds

Yuhang Wang synthesised compounds were tested against S. aureus (ATCC 29213), E. coli (ATCC 25922), and E. coli TolC mutant.

Unfortunately, there was no antimicrobial activity observed in the Staph and E. coli reference strains (29213 and 25922). But there was some good antimicrobial activity in the TolC E. coli mutant, which is promising.

The results are given in ug/mL, I've also attached an excel sheet of the same results (if that's easier for you to view). Dr. Abby Henney only looked at the MBC results of compounds with MIC results. Microbiology evaluation of WYH compounds.xlsx

In essence, there were some Antimicrobial activity in E. coli with deficient efflux pumps (tolC).

Some of the potential next steps were suggested as follows:

1. MICs and MBCs in Pseudomonas aeruginosa TolC strains
2. Re-screen E. coli with efflux pump inhibitors
3. Resistance work
