Linux RPM built or building from sources documentation

Dear OpenstudioApp team.

It would be great if a RPM built would be available. Almalinux, CentOS, RHEL could very much benefit of this.

Otherwise is it possible to have an installation instruction to build the stack OpenstudioApp+Openstudio+EnergyPlus from the sources?

I will be glad to contribute the RPM built for Almalinux if some instructions are provided.

@falken10vdl @dsmrs I've built E+ and OpenStudio SDK for Centos7 for a while, and for OS SDK 3.10.0 I added AlmaLinux9.

I'm trying to build the OpenStudioApplication RPM/tar.gz on AlmaLinux 9 right now. Assuming I can get it built, could you test it?

I'm doing everything in a docker container, so testing the GUI is going to be problematic, and I frankly do not wish to create yet another virtual machine for this (I have like 6 different VMs already, and here I'm going to operate on the basis that if I can get it working with little to not effort then happy to do it, otherwise I don't care enough)

Tested the RPM I built on an AlmaLinux 9.6 VM, works fine.

I just installed the rpm and it went smoothly. The app starts and the tests so far have been successful.

I had never even heard of Alma Linux before, would it be worthwhile adding a follow-on issue to build this automatically on GitHub actions? Could this be done using a Docker image on the Ubuntu runners?

Almalinux is widely used by organizations that used to run CentOS. Research institutions use it a lot as well.
