If you move to Oracle Linux and upgrade to the latest released versions of all packages, you would be eligible to pay for an Oracle Linux subscription that includes extended support for another three years. However, I strongly encourage you to review the Oracle Linux support policies as extended support only covers a very small amount of packages and in a very limited way. |
Is Oracle Linux open source, or is it paid for extended support? I checked and found that it is open source.
Thanks & Regards,

It is both open source and we provide paid support. They are not mutually exclusive. If you want to receive updates during extended support, you need a paid subscription. |
When we run the script to convert CentOS 7 to Oracle Linux 7, will Oracle Linux be open source, or will we need to pay for it?
Thanks & Regards,

It is always open source. However, if you want to receive updates during the extended support period, you will need to have a paid subscription. During that period, we will not be releasing binary packages publicly, just the source packages as required under the corresponding open source license for each package. |
Could you please provide the price for extended support for Oracle Linux 7.9? We can then proceed accordingly.
Thanks & Regards,
Dushyantraj Sharma

I want to know if we moved from Centos 7 to Oracle Linux 7 in that we get extended support free or paid because Oracle Linux's end of life ends in July.
