No need to ask. Go to the repo and submit a Pull Request, the maintainer will review and merge if the changes suits him/her. |

If you want to contribute to someone else's project but don't have write access to the repository, you can use a "fork and pull request" workflow. A fork is a new repository that shares code and visibility settings with the original “upstream” repository. |

In order to edit a project's wiki you have to be the owner or a collaborator of the project, or the project owner has to open up the wiki for public editing. |

In order to edit a project's wiki you have to be the owner or a collaborator of the project, or the project owner has to open up the wiki for public editing.
(For non-wiki changes, fork the project and create a pull request with your proposed changes)
