Can I please disable this Godforsaken 2FA? #136343

Select Topic AreaQuestion GitHub Feature AreaActions BodyI tried contacting support, but the chatbot refused to link anything useful, and was stuck in an infinite "Sorry I didn't understand that" loop repeatedly asking my username. I have an anxiety disorder and difficulties working too many hours. I am American, so financial aid/disability isn't really an option unless it's extreme and/or physically apparent you're disabled. It's very difficult for me to afford a phone bill so I'm rarely able to keep the same phone or number long when I do have service. Can I please have staff remove my 2FA for me? Or otherwise how do I get past the chatbot to contact them directly to ask? There was no removal option to remove 2FA or switch to email verification in the settings that I could find. At most absolute most I could change the number (bad choice since I can't afford a number consistently), or swap to an app (which again I cycle through extremely cheap phones often so it's also a bad choice). I would gladly delete my repositories and never commit anything again if it meant I could get rid of this worthless feature. At this point you're forcing me to use a "security" system that does nothing but lock me out of my own account. I may end up just deleting my account over this at this rate. |

Hey there! We know 2FA may be a new process for some folks and with that comes questions. We put together a FAQ that will help answer your concerns above. |
