What is causing the ERROR "You have exceeded a secondary rate limit."

I went to search GITHUB while not logged in and I get the ERROR (this happens 100% of the time in Incognito mode too). If I'm logged in, this error doesn't occur. But it happens after a single search request (while not logged in).

What do I need to do? to fix the issue? I only have Discord and Chrome open. I've tested while connected to VPN (and while not connected to VPN).

I too am experiencing this issue, never has happened before. I am on a hot spot, hot tethered to my Android phone, using a Dell M6800 laptop. I ggot on ]for the first time last night and was hit with this same Message after I had browsed and downloded from a few pages. I had used this query "js99er", went to this URL https://github.com/search?q=js99er&type=repositories and was hit last nigth with the message. Now today after having just logged into the hotspot, I am again getting this message. I am using Chrome version Version 129.0.6668.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Having the same problem as others mention here, started for no particular reason. I am not behind a vpn. If I try to search from the Github search bar, same thing. If I search from my favorite search engine and click on the link, no problem.
Very frustrating.

I tried opening GitHub with another Chrome profile and it worked. I faced the issue whenever I tried using the search bar, and now it works fine.

click on the profile option and choose another profile if you have one. If not then click the "Add" option and make one

Same problem here. No VPN, and it only happens from the github search bar and not clicking a link from a search engine. Also only happens when signed out.

Same issue here. It happened to me just now, and also happened a few months ago, so this problem has been there for awhile. I'm using Safari on a Mac.
