Check the file size: Github has a file size limit of 10 MB for individual files. If the picture you are trying to upload is larger than this, you will get an error message. Try reducing the size of the picture by compressing it or resizing it. Try a different browser: If you are using a browser that is not supported by Github, you may encounter errors when uploading files. Try using a different browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox. |

Same here. My picture is a 74k png, and shows up as my profile picture on github.com/settings/profile, but nowhere my avatar is shown. I'm using the latest Chrome. |

Update! After a couple of days mine magically appeared. It now shows up everywhere I could find that shows my avatar on github. |

It can happen because of your image size or image format issue; try to change the format of the picture and upload it again. |

I can upload picture in profile but can not set or customize the image - Crop your new profile picture This is only loading not give response. Is it happens with anyone else? |
