The update check runs every two weeks, but it is triggered by you visiting Firefly III. It does not run entirely by itself. This is on my list to fix. For the cron job: https://docs.firefly-iii.org/how-to/firefly-iii/advanced/cron/ |

I've noticed several times now that when I check for updates from within Firefly-iii, I immediately receive the update email notification (when there is an update available of course).
So it appears my manual checking within the App is triggering the email.
I'd have thought there would be a CRON running in the background to do this check, given that I already set 'Automatically check for update' to 'Enable the check for updates'.
Is there a way I can see if there is a CRON that's not 'doing its job'?
