Description

When a subscription of the current period is paid early, "Next Expected Match" field is still showing the payment day instead of the "Not expected this period" text.

Expected behaviour

It should display "Not expected this period" text.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a subscription with an upcoming date.
2. Pay the subscription before the actual date. E.g., if your subscription date is at 2025-02-18, pay it at 2025-02-16.
3. Check the "Next expected match" field in the subscription field and confirm it still displays the payment date instead of "Not expected this period" text.

If the payment is made on the payment date, that is 2025-02-18, it will show as "Not expected this period":

Hey, thanks for starting this discussion.

So there are two periods that are important here. The bill period, which runs from 18 Jan to 18 Feb to 18 March etc., and the view period, which runs from 1 Feb to 28 Feb.

When a subscription of the current period is paid early, "Next Expected Match" field is still showing the payment day instead of the "Not expected this period" text.

This is correct behavior. The bill period starts later than the paid date. In your example, the bill period starts on 18 Feb, but the bill was paid on 16 Feb. Between 1 Feb and 28 a new bill period starts (on 18 Feb) so Firefly III expects 1 payment on the 18th or later.

If the payment is made on the payment date, that is 2025-02-18, it will show as "Not expected this period":

This is correct behavior. There is one payment date expected in the view period, which is 2025-02-18 or later. Since you paid the bill on that day, no (other) bill payments are expected this period.
