Plan and scope of project

As OS2Display has end of life by november 2021, we are working towards having a the next version ready to be used in the OS2 community before that. The internal goal is to be done and ready for use in Aarhus in October 2021.

We are working towards a 1:1 of the existing functionality build on different technology. We are trying to keep focus on:

• 1:1 of current functionality
• possibility to migrate content (to some extent)
• usability in the backend
• easy installation using docker

We would like to add some cool features to the project, and are keeping these in mind for further development as they will not be implemented in the first release, these features are:

• template builder (something simple, making it easy to make small adjustments to an existing template or create new simple templates with images and texts
• Marketplace, for sharing content and channels/playlists in the OS2 community

At a more technical level we are starting out creating small POC's of the different pieces of technology working together to be sure this can actually be done.
