I noticed that configure script has this '--enable-mutex-on-pm' option, does it mean at least '@pm' is not thread-safe when that option is off?

Hi @weliu,

The library should be thread-safe regardless this option. This option was added during a race condition investigation.

Notice, however, that the majority of our deployments are on multi-process with single thread.
