We need to deal with this in some way for MVP, though there may not be much to do anymore. In the spots I checked, we're pretty ok:

Aside from truncating them in the console do we also want to lower the max length in the API?

I doubt anyone will want to do that. We get 63 from the domain names spec: https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc1035#section-2.3.4 and it’s more or less what the cloud providers do.

Ok, perhaps we can reuse the same solution we come up with for truncated IDs, where the full text can be seen in a tooltip.
