Not sure if this is entirely a bug , but there's no mention in the documentation for the PHP SDK that session_start() needs to be called before using persistent storage.

IMO, I feel like it does not really have to specify that. Its a Parse documentation, not a PHP one. If the developer needs to be explicitly told to session_start then i don't know...
