arrow keys when editing short message cancel the message #293

When typing a short message and hitting arrow keys or home/end keys with the intention to edit a portion of the text, another action is takes precedence and the message is lost. I would expect some basic line editing features.

This is a bit hacky... left arrow does the same as delete, other control
character open up the editor for further message editing

I implemented a solution to this (see above commit), albeit a bit hacky and not optimal.
