The specified value "!" does not conform to the required format. The format is "#rrggbb" where rr, gg, bb are two-digit hexadecimal numbers.

I think this issue has been solved as part of spectrum 1.7.1. As the color picker is based on version 1.6 the problem should disappear by updating to the current version.
