Discuss about XOAUTH2 authentication

I was wondering if there are any updates or ongoing plans related to what's outlined here:

Support for XOAUTH2 in the ext/imap extension would be really valuable in many modern use cases.
Is there any work in progress or discussion happening that’s not yet reflected on the wiki?
