What does this PR aim to accomplish?:

This PR removes an old debug message introduced by #239 (more than 5 years ago).
The debug message was never removed, but it's not necessary anymore.

How does this PR accomplish the above?:

Remove the message and replace by "Invalid option" error message and fix indentation.

What documentation changes (if any) are needed to support this PR?:
