Compatibility

The pinout of this version has been slightly updated and is not 100% compatible with < v3.0
The current pinout is a de facto standard, established by actors of the MK community (see discussions in #RP2040 on the bastardkb Discord server) and should ensure maximum compatibility between RP2040 breakout boards (pro-micro format).

Parts sourcing

v3.2 uses a slightly different USB-C socket in order to solve previous sourcing issues (TYPE-C-31-M-13B - LCSC #C2848619 seems to be more frequently in stock).

Due to the global electronic chip shortage, the stock of some components varies greatly (e.g. USON-8 NOR Flash Memory).
You may have to order some of them through a third-party vendor.

Panelized

JLCPCB only allows assembling connectors through their newer standard service, that has a 70x70mm minimal board size requirement.

The panel(ized) archive contains information to assemble 3x2 PCBs on a single board.

Ordering

This release contains PCBA information for assembly by JLCPCB SMT service.

  • Recommended PCB thickness is 1 or 1.2mm
  • Ideally HASL Lead-Free

Parts sourcing

It has been noticed that the availability of some components in JLCPCB parts library (e.g. the USB-C connector LCSC# C223907, and generally all mid-mount USB-C sockets) varies in time.
You may need to pre-order or source it yourself.
