Qutebrowser, which is based on QtWebEngine, has a lot of graphical bugs with COSMIC. Webpages frequently turn black untill something causes the window to update, and certain kinds of video/GIFs constantly jump around in their frames. Also, sometimes previously rendered windows will be displayed instead a black screen.
I've tested using qutebrowser with both COSMIC and GNOME on the same Fedora 40 system, and GNOME renders fine while COSMIC does not, leading me to believe this is an issue with COSMIC.
To replicate the black screen, highlight and right click on any text in github. This also works in many other websites as well.
I tried digging into the compositor myself to see if I could find the issue, but being new to both rust and compositors I became pretty lost and gave up. If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd be willing to take another look at it.
