Is safe install OPL beta?

I'm about to burn OPL into my device, beta from 4 days ago in releases is safe to install and use? Or have some dangerous/unstable feature that make me use last stable version from 2021?

I'm new to OPL and i wanna use to PS2 to load my games from external HDD and Flashdrives.

any version is safe, no version will broke your ps2, but some betas can have some bugs, I suggest you "install" the stable 1.1.0 and try the betas using ulaunchelf or adding then in apps tab, and if you like that beta, you can swap the elf file

OPL isn´t really installed on PS2, you only put a elf on some place that your modchip or exploit can load it, it doesn´t make any change on your console, so... it's totally safe

Another question, its possible to run OPL games without be in ISO file to speed up loading time? Or must be in ISO file? For example i installed just now Sniper Elite into X:\DVD\ (where X is letter of my USB device) as iso and it wasn't loaded correctly with missing textures etc.

if you have a matrix, thunder pro 2, modbo5, dms3 or dms4 you can put the elf on memory card and boot from there without the dvd, this action is called DEV1, if you have a PS2 fat, you can use the network adapter with a hdd and put the elf there, this action is called DEV2

in this case you'll need the disc only once to make the file transfer

if you have access on ulaunchelf, you can also do:
PS2 Slim: install funtuna on mc
PS2 Fat: install fmcb on mc

If your ps2 is not moded, you may use Free DVD Boot, a.k.a FDVD, but this method don't work on every ps2

I have another question (sorry), i've watched some videos and i splitted ISO files with USB Util. The problem is, where i can place ul.cfg and all ISO chunked files? DVD folder? Or in root flash drive folder? All videos i've watched don't tell where to place these files. First time i'm working with OPL and USBUtil/OPL Util (i've used OPLUtil to download only game icons/images)
