Background
In the graph, the merit attribute for cooking and lighting is specified on the technology nodes, whereas for appliances it is specified on the final demand for appliances, see the green outline in the Figure below.
Issue
The additional information of having the hourly electricity consumption for each lighting and cooking technology is probably not very important to users. It does mean more profiles, compared to specifying the merit attribute on the final demand node. More profiles means more data to store and more calculation time.
Solution
For households lighting and cooking, the merit attributes should be moved from the technology to the final demand nodes.
When implementing this solution, note that it's important to check for any hardcoded references to the technology merit attributes, as identified in #3303.
