Installing GO in Ubuntu

• Download package from the Official Download Page
  • In my case the filename is "go1.15.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz"
• Open your terminal, and follow these steps

• $ mkdir ~/go

• $ sudo mv ~/Downloads/go1.15.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz ~/go

• $ cd ~/go

• $ sudo tar -C /usr/local -xzf go1.15.2.linux-amd64.tar.gz

• Copy these:

  •     export GOPATH=$HOME/go
        export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin:$GOPATH/bin

• Profile installation
  • Paste Here

    • $ sudo nano ~/.profile

    • $ /bin/bash -c ‘source ~/.profile'

• System-wide installation

  • $ sudo nano /etc/profile

  • $ /bin/bash -c ‘source /etc/profile’

• Re-open your terminal
• Test with:
  • $ go version
