feat: add incremental generator tests

Added incremental generator tests for #1791

• Tests should fail until I add incremental generation.

• Commented out [Fact] so test will pass
• Will probably add more tests in a separate PR to break up the incremental generator PR
• Test code could probably be simplified in future
