Are you still playing around with this? I'm wondering if it makes sense to also consider #57 and maybe changing the build system, too. I think Lit is TS-native these days for example...

Hey, yes, I'm still playing with this. I got into some git issues today xD. When I created this pull request, I suddenly had 7 unrelated commits, that I didn't want to merge. Now I'm trying to get rid of them.
But sure, I have used Lit in a project once and could help with the move to web components :D

In what order would you prefer it? I've done some basic changes right now, I just hope that it won't become hard to review if I do the other changes that might be nice. But if I add them to other pull requests they would depend on this getting merged as well.
