I think interesting the idea of multiple devices playing multiplayer
Describe the solution you'd like
would be a local p2p connection existing on a client/server, whether or not it can transmit or control (depends on the capacity of the device). but the client input are passed to the server.
It would have a configuration to allow hosting ingame menu for when decides to be the server.
For those who are going to play as a client there would be an emulators selection menu that displays the option to pair devices.
Describe alternatives you've considered
As for peripherals, there are no connection alternatives for an esp32. I just don't know how much bluetooth or wifi can worst performance, an alternative would be a link cable.
Additional context
I find it strange that someone did not create a topic about it, but consider it a good resource and I intend to do some tests tried this.
